Hey! I’m Alia, and I’m so happy you finally found your way here to The Educator’s Palette.
I created this corner of the internet to share my journey as a secondary school teacher in Malaysia. This is an honest look at the realities we face—no sugarcoating. It’s not negative, but rather an opportunity to share genuine insights and tips, especially for new teachers.
Along the way, I’ll also share some of my favorite Canva templates to help you bring your own creative ideas to life. Whether you’re an educator, a designer, or simply love to learn, there’s something here for everyone. Let’s explore, create, and inspire together!
If this resonates with you, you’ve found a kindred spirit right here. ❤️
Behind The Scenes
I started this blog when I was 22 and am currently awaiting a call about a part-time job at a local coffee shop. I never imagined myself as a blogger, especially since I’m quite reserved. Most of my social media accounts are private, so stepping into this space where anyone can read my thoughts is a new and challenging experience for me. Despite that, I’m excited to share my journey and connect with others through this blog.
I am an alumnus of IIUM Gombak, where I studied education, majoring in the TESL program. During those years, I learned a lot about becoming a teacher and growing as a person. Was my degree challenging? Definitely. The academic demands were tough, but the life challenges were even tougher. I decided to share my journey here, hoping it might be helpful and inspiring for my readers.
What made me want to start blogging? It’s to continue my dad’s legacy. My dad was once a famous blogger and website developer. While I couldn’t follow in his footsteps exactly since I’m not as tech-savvy as he was, I want to master some of his skills so his legacy doesn’t end with him. Of course, mine won’t be as good as his—I don’t even know how to customize my blog yet! But that’s okay; I know I’ll learn little by little.
Bits & Bites Of My Content
The Educator’s Pallete?
What does that mean?
The Educator’s Palette is more than just a blog; it’s a vibrant space where the art of teaching meets the world of design. The name reflects my belief that teaching, like painting, is a creative process where every lesson, idea, and interaction adds a unique color to the canvas of education. As a dedicated teacher, I’m excited to share my journey with you—highlighting the experiences, challenges, and successes that have shaped my career. Each story is a brushstroke, contributing to the larger picture of what it means to be an educator today.
In addition to sharing my teaching experiences, The Educator’s Palette is also a hub for creativity, where I offer carefully crafted Canva templates designed to enhance your own educational materials. Whether you’re looking to create engaging presentations, dynamic classroom posters, or personalized resources, these templates are here to help you bring your ideas to life with ease and style. I believe that great design can make learning more accessible and enjoyable, and I’m thrilled to provide tools that support this vision.
By combining my passion for education with my love for design, The Educator’s Palette serves as a resource for teachers, students, and anyone interested in the intersection of teaching and creativity. This blog is a reflection of my commitment to both my craft as an educator and my desire to inspire others to explore their creative potential. Whether you’re here for teaching tips, personal stories, or to find the perfect Canva template, I hope you find something that sparks your imagination and helps you add your own colors to the educational canvas.
With love,
Alia.
